Pricing formulas
Set automatic starting prices for parts, sets, minifigures, gear, and instructions, in new or used condition. Open Settings → Pricing formulas.

Watch on YouTube (2:55)Default formula and overrides
The default applies to every item type and condition. It starts at 100% of the last six months sold average, with no adjustment and a minimum price of 0.01 in your store currency.
- Choose Edit default formula to change the shared starting price.
- For a specific type and condition, check Override and choose Edit or Customize.
- Save the formula to enable that override. Uncheck it to return to the default; the custom formula is kept for later use.
The list shows the formula each row uses. Changing the default updates every row without an enabled override. Cancel closes the editor without saving changes.
Simple builder
Choose a base price: the last six months sold average or the current items for sale average. Set a multiplier and an optional fixed adjustment. A multiplier of 1 means 100%; 1.2 means 120%. A negative adjustment subtracts from the price.
Guide average × multiplier + adjustment
For example, a sold average of 0.50, a multiplier of 1.2, and an adjustment of 0.05 produce a price of 0.65. The minimum price applies afterward, and the result rounds to cents without falling below that minimum.
Advanced expression reference
Select Advanced expression for an Excel-style formula. An initial = is optional. Variable and function names are case-insensitive. The active mode determines the price; switching modes keeps your inputs in both modes. The minimum price also applies to advanced expressions.
| Variable | Guide value |
|---|---|
sold_avg | Last six months sold average. |
stock_avg | Current items for sale average. |
Both values use the selected item and condition in your store currency. Parts also use the selected color.
- Arithmetic:
+ - * / ^. Use parentheses to group calculations. - Comparisons:
= <> < <= > >=. IF(condition, yes, no)chooses a result; only the chosen branch is evaluated.MIN(a, b, ...)andMAX(a, b, ...)choose the lowest or highest value.ROUND(value, places)rounds to the requested number of decimal places.ABS(value)returns the absolute value.
Examples
| Formula | Result |
|---|---|
sold_avg * 1.2 | 120% of the sold average. |
MAX(sold_avg, stock_avg) | The higher of the two guide averages. |
ROUND(sold_avg * 1.15 + 0.05, 2) | 115% of the sold average plus 0.05, rounded to two decimal places. |
IF(sold_avg < 0.10, stock_avg, sold_avg * 1.2) | The current sale average for items below 0.10 sold average; otherwise 120% of the sold average. |
Use the price preview to try sample guide values before saving. These are examples, not live guide prices. Expressions are limited to 500 characters and the operators, variables, and functions listed here; spreadsheet cell references and other Excel functions are not supported.
Using formulas when editing inventory
Open the price-guide dropdown beside the price field in inventory Edit or single Add, then select Apply pricing formula. It fills the field using your default or enabled override for the selected item type and condition. Parts use the selected color. Review the price and save the form to apply the change. The current and six-month guide averages remain available as separate choices. Opening the dropdown keeps your current price unchanged.
Part Out Set
Creating a part-out project and expanding a subset apply your formulas using the project condition. Get Prices applies formulas to selected lots using the condition chosen in its dialog. Each item uses its applicable type and condition override, or your default formula. Manage these rules in Settings → Pricing formulas; the tool has no separate stock/sold guide selector. Lots without a usable quote keep their existing price, and unpriced lots need a manual price before upload. Uploading uses the stored or manually edited price. Existing projects keep their prices until you request new ones.
When prices are applied
- Adding inventory items and entering intake items uses the applicable default or override. Manual price edits take precedence.
- Intake Get prices applies the formulas to selected lines. If any selected item has no usable guide data, selected prices remain unchanged.
- In Settings → Inventory → Intakes, Replace existing lot price controls whether matching lots get the intake line price on import. Turn it off to keep the existing price and add quantity.
- Merging items through inventory add keeps the existing lot price. Saving a formula does not reprice existing inventory.
Missing, zero, or invalid guide values cannot provide an automatic price when your formula needs them. Enter a price manually if no quote is available. A constant expression, such as 0.25, needs no guide data. Automatic pricing uses cached guide data, so it may differ from the latest marketplace prices.
